Angelina Jolie Voight made her debut in the big screen when she was 4 years old. The film is Lookin’ to Get Out; it was shown in 1982 and starred Angelina Jolie’s father John Voight. In this movie, Angelina Jolie was still Angelina Jolie Voight in the credits and she played the adorable Tosh.
In 1993 the teenage Angelina Jolie played the risqué female lead in the movie Cyborg 2. She was the cyborg Cash which was created as a weapon. Conflict of interest ensues when love develops between Cash and a human.
In 1995, Angelina Jolie made two movies: the action movie Without Evidence where she played the role of Jodie Swearingen, and the technology flick Hackers where she played the acid-tongued Kate Libby.
In 1996, she was part of Mojave Moon and Love Is All There Is and got one of the lead roles in the movie Foxfire. In 1997, she was part of the TV show George Wallace (starring Gary Sinise) and she was one of the lead females in the TV show True Women. It was also in 1997 that she played Claire in the movie Playing God with David Duchovny and Timothy Hutton.
In 1998, Angelina started getting top billing. She starred in the TV show Gia as Gia Carangi and the movie Playing by Heart where she co-starred with Sean Connery. One other project that year was Hell’s Kitchen where she played the role of Gloria Mc Neary.
Her really big year was 1999 when she played Amelia Donaghy across Denzel Washington’s Lincoln Rhyme in The Bone Collector and Mary Bell in Pushing Tin. Both movies got multiple nominations. However, the best of the lot was her movie Girl Interrupted where she won the Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
After 1999, she went on to make a total of 18 more movies including the two Lara Croft movies, Original Sin, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Wanted and the movie that gained her an Oscar nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role category, Changeling.
At the moment, Angelina Jolie is working on her latest movie, Salt, `which has a projected release date of July 23, 2010.
